Senior Commercial Manager

Abbeygate Search is partnering with an international business operating within the renewable energy sector to appoint a Senior Commercial Manager.

Working across a portfolio of major strategic client relationships, this is a senior, hands-on commercial role with responsibility for negotiating complex client agreements, pricing structures and wider commercial terms.

The role will suit someone who is comfortable operating at senior stakeholder level but equally enjoys getting into the detail. You will work closely with senior leadership, Finance and Legal, while taking a lead role in commercial negotiations with clients and their procurement teams.

The role

You will be responsible for:

• Leading negotiations around MSAs, commercial agreements and contractual terms
• Developing and negotiating pricing models, fee structures and rates
• Working directly with client procurement and sourcing teams
• Reviewing commercial terms including payment terms, liability, scope and contractual obligations
• Supporting major pitches, renewals and new client opportunities from a commercial perspective
• Ensuring agreements are commercially sustainable and appropriately balance risk and reward
• Working closely with Finance and Legal on complex contractual and pricing matters
• Building commercial models and providing analysis to support negotiations and decision-making
• Managing multiple senior stakeholders across a complex international organisation
• Remaining close to the detail while providing senior-level commercial advice and challenge

The person

We are looking for an experienced commercial professional who has operated within a complex, international business environment.

You are likely to have:

• Significant experience negotiating complex B2B client contracts and MSAs
• Strong experience of pricing, commercial modelling and contract negotiation
• Experience dealing directly with sophisticated procurement/sourcing functions
• A good understanding of the financial implications of commercial agreements
• Experience working alongside Legal on contractual negotiations
• Exposure to large, complex or multinational client relationships
• The ability to influence senior internal and external stakeholders
• A genuinely hands-on approach, with the ability to move comfortably between strategy and detailed commercial work

Previous experience within renewable energy, energy, infrastructure, technology, consulting or another complex B2B environment would be advantageous, although broader sector backgrounds will be considered.
